Our Focus for Ages 4–8

Having Fun

Lessons are designed to be enjoyable and encouraging. When keiki are having fun, they are more open to learning and trying new things. Younger keiki may focus mostly on comfort and familiarity, while older keiki may begin shooting arrows with guidance.

Becoming Familiar With the Bow

Children are gently introduced to:

  • Holding a bow safely

  • Learning basic stance and positioning

  • Drawing the string using age-appropriate equipment

Feeling Comfortable in the Archery Setting

We help keiki feel comfortable with:

  • Standing at the shooting line

  • Following simple safety instructions

  • Being around archery equipment and instructors

Building Confidence and Coordination

Archery helps develop:

  • Hand-eye coordination

  • Balance

  • Focus and patience

What Parents Can Expect

Every child develops differently. Lessons for ages 4–8 include:

  • Short activity periods

  • Breaks as needed

  • Clear instruction and positive reinforcement

There is no pressure to perform or compete. Some children prefer to observe at first, while others participate right away. Both approaches are supported.
